The ES Hybrid utilizes a continuously variable automatic transmission designed to make the most out of both power supplies.

The ES 350 model is also available, which swaps the hybrid powertrain out for a 3.5L V6 that is capable of 268 hp and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Even without the hybrid engine option, the ES 350 is estimated to offer over 20 mpg in city driving and over 30 mpg on the highway. This model also comes with an innovative Drive Mode Selector, which allows the driver to choose between normal, sport, and eco settings designed to give you even more control over the performance of your vehicle.

In addition to the powertrain choices, there are also a number of great comfort and convenience options for the new ES. A heated steering wheel and seats are a great option for those in colder climates, while voice-activated navigation and a premium 15-speaker stereo system are also available. There are even several optional safety upgrades, including a lane-assist system that helps make sure you stay in your lane, as well as rear sensors that assist with backing up.
